Let’s understand the Google Core Updates 2024 (I will update all updates in this blog post, so save it for later)
Google Core Updates March 2024:
Google‘s 2024 core update will shake up SEO by targeting spam practices. Many commonly used strategies may no longer be effective for ranking. Website owners and SEOs are urged to reassess and pivot towards user-centric approaches in response to these changes.
As per their blog;
“They have announced 3 new spam policies against bad practices people use to grow in popularity on searches:
- Expired domain abuse
- Scaled content abuse, and
- Site reputation abuse
Expired domain abuse:
We all have heard that buy expired domain and there are multiple websites who sell these and write content and give backlinks to websites. Usually many SEOs believe that those domains have a lot of traffic and that will give boost to another website.
Usually write low quality content which is used to manipulate search engines and do not provide value to the users. Such websites will get hit by the latest update in google algorithm.
Team Google says,
It is okay to use old domain for new content or business but should be designed in a way that it should serve people first not for sake of building spam links.
Scaled content abuse:
It means creating a lot of pages for same purpose which gives little to no value to users. People use a lot of pages with same primary keyword and change 1 word of keyword in each page.
It also targets pages who are created with extensive amounts of unoriginal content that offers minimal to no value to web visitors, it does not matter which method is used like human written or AI written.
Site reputation Abuse:
It is when third-party pages are published without substantial first-party oversight or involvement, aiming to manipulate search rankings by leveraging the ranking signals associated with the first-party site.
Algo will identify third-party content hosted without close oversight and with the intent to manipulate search rankings as a violation. Not all 3rd-party content is considered a breach; rather, the focus is on content that falls within the defined parameters.
When will be Google March 2024 core update be implemented?
Google March 2024 core update will take effect starting May 5, 2024. So you have time to take care of your website before it gets late.
