Why You Should Never Buy Hosting from GoDaddy? – Honest Customer Review

Let’s get one thing straight I don’t hate GoDaddy as a company.
I hate what they’ve become: a hosting nightmare that wastes your time, tests your patience, and charges you for things that should be free.

If you’ve ever tried to deal with their support, you already know what I’m talking about.
If you haven’t read this before you make the same mistake.


The 45-Minute A Record Disaster

I once needed a simple A record for hosting. Just a single value.
It took them 45 minutes.

Forty-five.
Minutes.
To give me one line of text.

And the funny part? I was already logged in, verified, and screen-shared. Still they kept asking me dumb, irrelevant questions “for security.”
I get the idea of verification, but this wasn’t security this was stalling. A waste of time disguised as “procedure.”


They Don’t Answer Your Questions – They Avoid Them

You’d think when you contact support, you get answers.
But not with GoDaddy.

Ask them one specific question, and instead of answering it, they’ll:

  • Ask you another question that has nothing to do with your issue.
  • Or worse send you a URL to a 2,000-word help article that doesn’t even match what you asked.

Like… if I wanted to read a blog, I’d Google it.
I came to you because I need an actual solution not homework.


No Free SSL – Because Why Not Charge for Everything?

Every decent hosting company in 2025 gives you free SSL.
Namecheap does.
Hostinger does.
Naxsol does.

But GoDaddy? Nope.
They’ll charge you extra for SSL something that’s literally free everywhere else.
That’s like a car dealer selling you a car and then charging extra for the steering wheel.


Their Dashboard Su-ks

Let’s talk about the dashboard.
If you’ve used it, you know it’s not built for humans.

It’s slow, messy, and filled with upsell banners everywhere you click.
Finding basic things like DNS or file manager feels like playing a maze game designed by someone who hates UX.

The only thing that works fast on GoDaddy’s dashboard is their “Buy Now” button.


They Hide Behind “Security” to Waste Your Time

GoDaddy loves to use the word security it’s their favorite shield.
But it’s often an excuse for delay.

Even when you’re logged in, verified, and literally inside your account, they’ll say things like:

“We can’t proceed until we verify your details again.”

Translation:

“We’re just wasting 10 more minutes of your time while we scroll through your ticket queue.”


They’re Expensive and for What?

They’re one of the most overpriced hosts out there.
Renewal costs shoot up like crazy.
Add-ons cost extra.
SSL costs extra.
Support costs your sanity.

And for what? Average performance, outdated systems, and support that feels like arguing with a bot trained on Wikipedia.

You’re not paying for quality you’re paying for brand recognition and upsells.
That’s it.


Too Big to Care:

GoDaddy is massive millions of customers, billions in revenue.
But here’s the problem: when a company gets too big, the customer stops being a person. You become a ticket number.

When your site goes down, they don’t care that you’re losing clients or sales. They care about closing the ticket as “resolved.”
Even if it isn’t.

That’s why every experienced developer I know says the same thing:

“GoDaddy? Never again.”


Better Options Exist (and They Actually Care)

If you’re done being treated like a problem instead of a customer, switch to one of these:

Namecheap – simple, transparent, and consistent. No hidden traps.

Hostinger – great for speed, uptime, and ease of use if you want something global.

Naxsol – a hosting provider built by people who were tired of GoDaddy-style nonsense. Real humans, fast support, free SSL, clean dashboards, fair pricing.

All three have one thing in common: they value your time.


Final Word: Don’t Learn the Hard Way

If you haven’t experienced GoDaddy pain yet don’t wait for it.
